How to Hide a Dish 101
I bet you were wondering ‘how should I conceal a dish that I just purchased?’ Well, I have an answer for you! If obvious hiding spots are unavailable, such as under plant pots, then look to the architecture in your home. For example: the above picture is that of a china cabinet in the kitchen. Behind the center piece of wood, is concealed a new piece of ceramic!! In order to see it, the viewer must open the glass doors, AND look from the side! SO SNEAKY!
This is the final table setting from my movie. Its theme is Rainbow Brite. The scariest part of this: my mother-in-law actually owns this table cloth!
I dont think this is the case with me - but the lead from the crappy dishes will definitely do me in!
This is a hidden dish that was purchased sometime last year. Dishes under plants is common in this household, since my mother-in-law just HAS to buy cheap dishes from second-hand shops. And when she brings them home, she realizes that maybe she doesn’t have the room, and/or Craig is going to yell at her. So here is one way she conceals purchases.
My mother-in-law has an issue throwing things away - ESPECIALLY dish/silverware related items. Here is a good example. She is treasuring these broken knives for a “project” someday. The knives broke since they are made up of more than one piece and overall, a crappy product. I am sure when we come back to this house in 5 years, these knives will still be in her drawer. She hides little broken things like this in the backs of drawers, and on top of shelves. I am convinced this is hoarding.
Because of the large number of dishes and linens, it is quite laborious to set the table. Dishes are located in different rooms and in many areas. What should be an easy job, actually takes a long time! I recorded the experience for your viewing pleasure.
